About

Hi, I’m Usman Zubair. A backend engineer and part-time professor based in Canada. I graduated from the University of Windsor in 2006 and have spent the years since building web services, with a focus on cloud infrastructure, DevOps, scalable API design, and developer experience. My day-to-day at Miovision involves AWS, Terraform, containers, and leading AI strategy and initiatives alongside figuring out why things break in production.

Writing

I write here about the technical side of my work: infrastructure, backend systems, and things I pick up along the way. I also write on Medium under Zehen Diaries, where I publish for a broader audience and contribute to tech publications.

Teaching

I’ve taught as a Part-Time Professor at Conestoga College in Waterloo, Ontario, covering:

Outside of Work

In my spare time, I’m a son, a brother, a husband, and a lover of music and movies. I play with Lego, video games on PS4, and spend far too much time on r/programming.
